This Easy DIY Popsicle Workout Jar Is Going To Bring Your Fitness To The Next Level

I am definitely a routine person: to-do lists bring me peace and the Google Calendar app on my phone is basically my unofficial sidekick. And I have to say, most of the time being a naturally organized person rocks; I rarely forget anything, I’m naturally productive and my stuff stays in exceptionally good shape. However, there are other occasions when being so tied to routine is not as awesome. Exhibit A: Whenever I work out.

I’ve found that because I’m a creature of habit, I don’t put a lot of thought into switching up my workout routines. Because of this, my workouts get stale. I’m pretty sure I’ve developed muscle memory and it’s preventing me from getting the most of my workout.

I went on Pinterest to look for some new workout ideas and that’s when I came across this popsicle idea— honestly, it might be the best thing I’ve ever pinned. To put it in the most basic terms, you take a bunch of a popsicle sticks, paint them different colors, write different workouts moves on them and stick them all in a jar. The catch? Each colored popsicle stick corresponds with a different exercise category: cardio, core, legs, arms, back and chest (or whatever you want). That way you can take however many of each color to build your perfect workout! Got a wedding coming up that requires you to wear a sleeveless bridesmaid dress? Maybe grab a few extra pink “arm” popsicle sticks. Inspired by Khloe Kardashian's squat game? Pick out a few extra green "leg" popsicle sticks. The colors make it easy to design your perfect workout or make one up that's completely random!

This idea really helped spice up my routine! Now, instead of doing the same workout day in day out, each session is a new experience (and a chance to be sore in some new places). It gives my mind a break from trying to figure out new routines while also ensuring that my workout stays fresh and fun. Highly recommend!
