Rihanna To Receive Harvard's 'Humanitarian Of The Year Award!'

Most people don't know that Rihanna is one of the biggest activists and humanitarians out there. Although the media may not cover all the amazing things Rihanna does, Harvard will be recognizing her as Humanitarian of the Year on February 28th!

An award ceremony will be held on the Boston campus and Rihanna will take the stage to receive the Peter J. Gomes Humanitarian award, Billboard reports. According to the Harvard Foundation site, the annual award is given to an "individual whose works and deeds have served to improve the quality of our lives and have inspired us to greater heights."

Rihanna's amazing contributions to the world make her the perfect recipient of such an honorable award. Her Clara and Lionel Foundation Scholarship Program helps Caribbean students attend college in the United States, not to mention she built a full-service breast cancer treatment center in her home country of Barbados.

Other recipients of the Humanitarian Award include Martin Luther King, Jr., Lionel Richie, and Malala Yousafzai, meaning this award is a pretty huge deal!

We can't wait to see what other inspiring things Rihanna does in the years to come!
