Nothing says easy-breezy like a simple braid. They are super simple and can be styled in so many different ways. As chic as a simple French braid is, sometimes it can be fun to turn it up a notch. Considering the current state of the world, now is the perfect time to step up your braid game.
A braided rose hairstyle has recently been taking over Instagram and Pinterest. Even though it looks tricky, any novice braider can recreate this flower-inspired hairstyle. Alison Valsmis is a master when it comes to creating this look. Just follow these directions.
Begin by installing a simple three-strand braid at the center of your head. Roll up the braid and use bobby pins to secure it. This will serve as the centerpiece of the hairstyle.
Create a fishtail braid on either side and roll it around the first braid to create an illusion of rose petals.
Valsmis recommends rotating between fishtail and Dutch braids while making the rose. This will help to make the style look more textured. Once the rose has created the desired size, wrap a Dutch braid around the hairstyle to give it a more petaled look.
