This Dad Stops His Daughter's Wedding Procession So Her Stepdad Can Walk Her Down The Aisle

The father of the bride plays a critical role in his daughter’s wedding. From paying the bills, to delivering speeches, and giving his daughter away—dads have the ability to make a good wedding great, and a great wedding unforgettable.

But, when Brittany Peck’s father promised “something special” during his daughter’s ceremony no one would have expected the entire ceremony would be in tears.

Todd Bachman told the wedding photographer to “be ready,” and just as the Wedding March was cued, he made his move. Bachman stopped the music and grabbed the hand of the bride’s stepfather, Todd Cendrosky.

“He came and grabbed my hand, and said: ‘You worked as hard as I have/ You’ll help us walk our daughter down the aisle,’” Cendrosky told local station WKYC-TV.

Photos of the heartfelt moment were captured by wedding photographer, Delia D. Blackburn, and quickly went viral. The images were shared more than 500,000 times, and received well over 1 million likes.

“Grab tissues… because you will need it as you look through these pictures,” Blackburn noted in her Facebook post. “Families are what we make them.. make it about your kids and not your ego.”

Bachman admits his relationship with Brittany’s step father was not always easy, but that he wanted to be able to show his appreciation for helping raise her by offering the ultimate gift: walking their daughter down the aisle.
