Quarantine cooking is happening in a big way--sourdough bread, shallot pasta, and the food on the tip of everyone’s tongue--banana bread. Thanks in part to Chrissy Teigen’s cookbook, Cravings, we’re ready for the next big thing: Armadillo Cheesy Garlic Bread.
Chrissy recently dropped the recipe for this dish after seeing her fan’s reactions to it.
Here you go, friends. I know I should tell you to buy the book but in these times, you deserve it 💕 https://t.co/vER1dZrYl9— chrissy teigen (@chrissyteigen) April 25, 2020
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 ½ sticks of room temperature butter
- ½ mayonnaise
- 1 ½ cups finely grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons of finely minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 pound round loaf of French bread
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Combine the mozzarella, butter, mayo, Parmesan cheese, garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
With a serrated knife, cut the bread into a crosshatch pattern, making cuts 2 inches apart. Be sure to avoid cutting through to the bottom of the bread.
Place the cut bread on a baking sheet. Cover the cut surface of the bread with the cheese mixture. Be sure to save some of that mixture to put on top of the bread. Coat a sheet of foil with cooking spray and cover the bread. Spray-side down to seal the bread in foil.
Bake the bread for 20 minutes, then reduce temperatures to 375 degrees. Remove the foil and bake until the top is golden brown and the cheese is melted sufficiently, roughly 15 to 20 minutes longer.
